'Saving our Lives': Victoria University of Wellington Wellbeing Symposium - 27th of October 2017 - 9.30am-5pm

The annual VUW Wellbeing Symposium is set to be held in late October this year. The theme will be a strengths-based approach to suicide prevention in tertiary education, titled 'Saving our Lives: Suicide Prevention in Tertiary Education'.

In response to feedback from previous years, this Symposium will integrate more interactive workshops, with opportunities to network with those working in wellbeing, (both students and staff,) around Aotearoa.

Professor Annette Beautrais is set to be the keynote speaker. A New Zealand suicidologist, and the World Health Organisation's suicide prevention strategy lead, her presentation will set the scene for the workshops and break out sessions that will follow.

Our TWANZ executive will be reporting back on the development of the Translation Guide and how it might be applied to the important role tertiary education settings can play in suicide prevention.

Further information will be posted here as it is released.
